My great-grandmother, Bertha Sisson, was an amazing woman who lived to the wonderful age of 102, outliving her husband, David Birrell, by 52 years. What is even more amazing is that, from memory, she enjoyed fairly good health until only a few years before she died. Although she did lose her eyesight in her later years, her vivid blue eyes never faded.

 

I was 23 when she passed away and I only wish I had started my research earlier. Just imagine the stories and information that would have been stored in the memory of this wonderful centenarian!
