Henry Fletcher & Anna / Hannah Hawker ...

Henry Fletcher was born circa 1832 in Cirencester, Gloucestershire and his wife, Anna or Hannah Hawker, was born circa 1837 in Coates, Gloucestershire. Henry was the fourth child of James Fletcher, but the name of his mother has not been ascertained at this stage. Hannah was the daughter of William and Ann Hawker. Henry and Hannah were married on the 28 July 1885 at the Cirencester Baptist Church, with the marriage witnessed by William Miller and Hester Hawker. Henry's occupation on their marriage certificate is listed as Blacksmith.

Henry and Ann Fletcher had the following eleven known children, all of whom were born in Cirencester, Gloucestershire:

Ruth and John had the 1 known son, also a Charles John Baker, who was born on 23 May 1886 in Painswick, Gloucestershire. Charles Jnr married Elizabeth Hoad on 8 March 1908 in Croydon, Surrey and they had 4 children, Charles George (20 September 1908 - 5 January 1984), Betty Dorothy (28 September 1912 - 19 July 1999), twins Percy John (20 September 1919 - 19 May 1924), and Herbert Thomas (20 September 1919 - 16 April 1988).
Frederick bc1861 and was married to Matilda. Frederick and Matilda had 7 children, Frederick bc1887, Gertrude bc1888, Elsie bc1890, Mildred bc1892, Emily bc1894, Ada bc1896, and Henry bc1900.
Harry bc1864 and was married to Mary. Harry and Mary had 5 children, Annie bc1890, Ellen bc1892, Harry bc1895, Gilbert bc1898 and Thomas bc1899. At the time of the 1881 Census, he's occupation was listed as a Grocer's Porter.
Ernest bc1866 and, like his brother, was also married to a Mary. Ernest and Mary had 3 children, Ernest bc1893, Frederick bc1895 and Reginald bc1898. At the time of the 1881 Census, he was listed as an Errand Boy.
Gilbert bc1868 and was married to Sarah Morgan. Gilbert and Sarah had 3 children, Gilbert Thomas (1894 - 1959) who married Alice Smith, Percy Henry John (1896 - 1962) who married Alice Maud Silsby, and Frederick Robert Middleton (1897 - 1976) who married Annie Forbes Montgomery.

Kesia Louisa bc1877 and married Alfred Charles Clarke in 1907. Kesia and Alfred had 2 children, Violet bc1895, and Wilfred Gilbert who was bc1896 and died as an infant.

At the time of the 1881 Census, the family was living at 32 Cricklade Street, Cirencester, and Henry was employed as a grate fitter, whilst sons Harry and Ernest listed as grocer's porter and errand boy respectively. The younger children were listed as scholars. By the time the 1891 Census had come around, the older children had moved on and Ellen and Kezia were the only ones remaining at home, both employed as general servants. The family still lived in the house in Cricklade Street and had been joined by 2 of Henry and Anna/Hannah's grandchildren, Joseph H. and Emma Chambers.

Henry Fletcher died on 2 January 1915 in Cricklade, Wiltshire and his wife, Anna/Hannah, died in 1910 in Cirencester, Gloucestershire. Their burial place is unknown.

James Fletcher was bc1806 in Cirencester, Gloucestershire and is listed as an Agricultural Labourer in the 1841 and 1851 Census records. James married Mary Hawkins on 11 February 1823 in Cirencester. The parents of both James and Mary are unknown at this stage.

William Hawker was born on 16 November 1800 in Coates, Gloucestershire, the son of William and Esther Hawker. He married Ann/Mary Ann Savage, bc1802. William is listed in the 1841,1851, 1861, 1871 and 1881 Census records as having the occupation of Agricultural Labourer.

William Hawker was bc1761 in Kemble, Wiltshire, the son of James Hawker and Martha Durnell. William married Esther / Hester Wall on 28 January 1873 in Coates, Gloucestershire. Esther was bc1760, and her parents are unknown.

William and Esther Hawker had the following seven children, all born in Coates, Gloucestershire:
